Community Guidelines

Tokyo Moments is a community for sharing travel experiences, photography, culture, and recommendations. It is used by travelers of all ages, including families and younger users. These rules keep it safe for everyone.

Not allowed

  • Nudity, sexual, pornographic, or sexually suggestive content
  • Any sexual content involving minors — this results in immediate removal
  • Graphic violence, gore, self-harm, or shocking imagery
  • Hate speech or targeted harassment
  • Dangerous or illegal activities
  • Content promoting drugs or other age-restricted products
  • Spam, scams, or misleading commercial content
  • Personal information that could endanger someone (doxxing)

What we love

  • Photos of shrines, temples, food, streets, art, and landmarks
  • Honest recommendations from places you actually visited
  • Cultural context, travel tips, and Japanese phrases you used
  • Respect for other travelers and for the people you photograph

How moderation works

Photos, captions, comments, recommendations, usernames, profile pictures, and bios are automatically reviewed before they become public. Content that may violate these guidelines is blocked. Repeated violations may result in a posting restriction, suspension, or ban.

You can report any post, comment, or profile that seems inappropriate. Reports go to our moderation queue.

Your Memory Map is private

Anything you save to your personal Memory Map stays private. If you later choose to share a memory as a public Tokyo Moment, it is treated as a new post and reviewed before it is published.

Last updated: 2026-07-27. We may update these guidelines as the community grows.
